An apparent engraving of the Waitaki rail and road bridge from the Illustrated London News circa late 1870s. I think this engraving may be fanciful as borne out by a comparison with the 1870s Burton Brothers photo - there was no road crossing under the rail crossing! The old Waitaki Bridge was opened 1st June 1876 and demolished in 1956.
