- Manchester Courier and Lancashire General Advertiser - Wednesday 15 October 1913: BARONET'S HEIR WEDS. MR. F. H. HAMILTON SMITH MARRIED TO MISS HILDA ROSS. A wedding of considerable interest to South Lancashire took place St. Martin-in the-Fields Church, London, yesterday, the contracting parties being Mr. Frederick Henry Hamilton Smith, eldest son Sir Frederick Smith, Bart., and Lady Smith, of Manchester. Liverpool, and Colwyn Bay, and Miss Hilda Ross, elder daughter Mr. John Ross, of Alexandria, Egypt. The officiating clergy were the Bishop of Manchester, the Vicar of Colwyn Bay (the Rev. Canon Roberts), and the Rev. S. Rose. The bride, who was given away her father, was attired white charnieuse with slightly draped skirt, fastened with large crystal buckle. The blouse corsage of broche was slightly decollete, with small Medici collar and revers Carrickmacross lace. The long train was crepe broche. lined throughout with shell pink satin. The waist was finished with a sash tied loosely with handsome tassels in pearl and crystal. The veil was of embroidered tulle and orange blossom. The bride's bouquet of white carnations, lilies of the valley, and white heather. The bridesmaids were Miss Irene Ross (sister), Miss Winifred Smith and Miss Kathleen Smith (sisters of the bridegroom), Miss Patricia Wise, and Miss Isabel Aikman, ... etc
