An apparent engraving of the Waitaki rail and road bridge from the Illustrated London News circa late 1870s. I think this engraving may be fanciful as borne out by a comparison with the 1870s Burton Brothers photo - there was no road crossing under the rail crossing! The old Waitaki Bridge was opened 1st June 1876 and demolished in 1956.

Andersons Bay first and second Presbyterian churches - attended by William, Bill and Doug (the boys were taken twice on Sundays by their father). The second church was built in 1914. Jennie Grant, not being Presbyterian, did not attend. Photo taken in 1928 at the time of the Andersons Bay School 70th Jubilee.

Approx location of Taylor home corner Riccarton Road and Duke's Road, Mosgiel - best guess by Peter Grant after researching land records. There is a chance that the house site may have been on the other side of the Silverstream, given that often the family referred to their address as Duke's Road, but that may have been because Duke's Road was a major road across the plain from Riccarton Road, leading to nearby Mosgiel.
